Kym Gibson

Managing Director/Founder of Adventure Connections

Kym is a vibrant, enthusiastic and empathetic person who is always there to support others. She is a passionate advocate for Outdoor Recreation, Experiential Learning, Adventure Therapy and Outdoor Healthcare. She has dedicated her career to empowering people through learning by doing, reflecting on the outcome challenging current mindsets and hopefully creating new ones through their learned experiences. This is ultimately done best in a non-threatening environment and where better than in nature.

Kym is a qualified Teacher and experienced Outdoor Instructor who is also trauma informed. She is also Kids and Teens Yoga Teacher Trained. Kym has experienced childhood trauma and lives with mental health challenges daily, as a result of these early life experiences however It is this life experience that has drawn her to helping others.

Too many young people are living with mental health challenges and are dying prematurely, this has a ripple effect throught the families and communities which wrap around us. Everyone is impacted by mental health challenges at some point but it is how we cope with it that will make a difference and this is how Adventure Connections came to be.

We must do more to prevent mental illness and teach our young people how to protect their health and wellbeing not just physically but mentally as well. We must teach them how to thrive not just survive.

Kym is also a wife and mother to two beautiful children who she hopes will develop healthy behaviours and lifestyles that will help them manage the stress and challenges of life as they grow older.

Program Coordinator and Facilitator

I love the outdoors and everything that comes with it, even the dreaded march flies.  The sounds, smells, colours, space, unpredictability.  Whatever we are searching for: peace, excitement, connection, risk, there is something for every one and for every occasion .    Here are a few of my favourite things:

bush walking, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, yoga, emus, echidnas, adversity, stars.

As a group fitness instructor of 15 years, I believe physical activity is important for both physical and mental well being and, importantly, that it should be fun.  I have trained in numerous modalities of fitness including Yoga Therapy for Kids and Teens, Yoga, Nordic Walking, Spin, Modified Tai Chi, Boxing/Combat for fitness.

I believe every individual is valuable and should have the opportunity to experience challenge, success, receive praise and express gratitude.

All of this is why I am so lucky to be a part of Adventure Connections - it gives me the opportunity to empower people, one adventure at a time.

Program Facilitator and Marketing

Living the best life outdoors with others is where my passion starts. My name is Kodee, I have lived in the beautiful Collie River Valley all my life. Community and striving to be a good person to others in life is everything to me. The endless opportunities to escape the norm and be out amongst nature, is where I really come alive. I am all about connecting people with nature, experiencing the outdoors, and building friendships with like-minded people. I am a big mountain bike lover, hitting the local MTB trails every chance I get.

To be a part of a group that wants others to strive in life, by improving people’s health, physical activity, and wellbeing to develop positive social connections using nature and the great outdoors, has made me want to be a part of the Adventure Connections team. Join myself and the team at Adventure Connections, just by putting on a pair of hiking boots or throwing a leg over a mountain bike and joining us for nature-based recreation programs to improve your wellbeing.
