The purpose of the Meditation Hike is to promote R U OK Day and raise awareness of the importance of asking the question, if you think someone maybe struggling. We will encourage our walkers to have conversations along the trails and ensure that this is done in a safe and supportive manner. We will demonstrate how to start the conversation with the R U OK 4 simple steps.

  1. Ask R U OK?
  2. Listen
  3. Encourage Action
  4. Check In

Date: Thursday 10 September 2020 10.00am – 2.00pm

Venue: Mundaring Weir & Beelu National Park

As we hike through Beelu National Park from Mundaring Weir to Golden View Lookout, we will admire the Jarrah forest lined with wildflower blooms!

Commencing at Mundaring Weir, we’ll cross the Weir wall and talk about the message of R U OK? day and pay our respects to C.Y. O’Connor who sadly took his own life. As we hike through the forest, we’ll be mindful of our surroundings and connect with ourselves and nature.

Arriving at Golden View Lookout we’ll enjoy delightful views over the Helena River Valley and Lake C.Y.O’Connor before switching off through a guided meditation session.

After our relaxing meditation, we will enjoy some light refreshments before hiking back through the forest along the Bibbulmun track.

This experience includes: 4kms guided hike, morning tea with views, 30 min meditation session, and complimentary use of hiking poles, sunscreen, repellent and access to all hike photographs.

Gradient: The hike is 4kms, with no steep hills to navigate. There are sections with uneven rocky ground that take a little extra concentration and provide an excellent opportunity to practice your mindfulness.

What to bring: Camera, 2ltrs water, raincoat, personal first aid, hat, jacket, a good attitude and big smile!
